About the role

NOWON is seeking a General Manager to lead our upcoming Williamsburg location, with a target opening of early 2027. We’re looking for a hands-on leader who cares about hospitality, develops strong teams, and takes ownership of the restaurant’s performance. Before opening, you will train across our existing New York locations to learn NOWON’s food, beverage program, service standards, and daily operations. Once trained, you will work manager-on-duty shifts as needed until Williamsburg opens.
What You’ll Do: Help develop the opening team, staffing plan, training program, and operating systems. Lead daily restaurant operations and maintain a visible presence on the floor. Hire, train, schedule, and coach the front-of-house team. Set clear expectations and address performance issues promptly and consistently. Work closely with kitchen and bar leadership to maintain quality, service timing, and communication. Manage labor, purchasing, inventory, and controllable costs. Own guest recovery and follow through on feedback. Maintain food safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and opening and closing standards. Communicate priorities, resolve problems, and ensure assigned work is completed.
What We’re Looking For: Experience as a General Manager or senior restaurant leader in a busy, full-service restaurant. Strong floor leadership, sound judgment, and attention to detail. Experience managing schedules, labor costs, and restaurant financial performance. The ability to give direct feedback, coach in the moment, and build an accountable team. A calm, organized approach during busy service. A willingness to learn NOWON’s standards and apply them consistently. Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and training across locations. Restaurant opening experience is a plus. We’re looking for someone who can build a team, earn its trust, and lead by example—from pre-opening preparation through daily service.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
