Job Description Job description: LifeStar Response is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic, skilled Fleet Mechanic to help keep our ambulance fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on gas and diesel emergency vehicles and related systems.
What You'll Do:
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on company ambulances and support vehicles Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and computer-controlled systems Service brakes (including air brakes), engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and drivetrains Complete routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, fluids, belts, tires, hoses) Repair or replace components in cooling, exhaust/emissions, hydraulic, air, and electrical systems Maintain accurate service logs and maintenance records Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized Support other maintenance tasks as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent (trade school or technical training preferred) Prior experience as a fleet or automotive mechanic Working knowledge of gas and diesel engines and vehicle systems Valid driver's license
- Physical & Work Environment
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and working in various weather conditions.
- Exposure to noise, chemicals, oils, and moving vehicle parts.
- Requires use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and safety gear.
