About the role

Our client is a real estate firm. They seek a VP, Accounting to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities: Lead a team responsible for accurate accounting of property operations and transactions Review general ledger activity and ensure timely accrual, cash, and adjusting entries Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end workpaper packages Prepare GAAP and cash-basis financial statements and management reporting Partner with executives on cash flow forecasting and liquidity analysis Coordinate annual audited property financial statements and supporting schedules Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes Develop reporting templates, improve processes, and support technology initiatives Contribute to special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting 15+ years of real estate accounting experience Public accounting experience preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP/accounting theory Working knowledge of cash basis accounting principles Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office applications Knowledge of JD Edwards is a plusCPA preferred JobID: 48478
