Compensation: $175,000 to $230,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Company Description: Chan + Punzalan is a full-service law firm that offers a broad range of business-focused legal services. The firm is known for delivering practical, efficient counsel tailored to each client's specific needs. Team members collaborate closely with clients to understand their business goals and provide strategic legal solutions that address complex, evolving needs.
Role Description: This full-time Litigation Attorney role at Chan + Punzalan focuses on representing business clients in high-stakes civil litigation matters, primarily centered on intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets) and complex commercial disputes (breach of contract, business torts, and corporate governance). The attorney will draft and argue motions, manage discovery, take and defend depositions, and prepare cases for trial in state and federal courts. Daily responsibilities include legal research, case strategy development, client counseling, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Although the firm has physical offices in San Francisco's Financial District, remote candidates will be considered.

Trial Experience: Hands-on involvement in trial preparation, witness examination, and evidence presentation. Deposition Skills: Proficiency taking, defending, and analyzing deposition testimony, including fact and expert witnesses. Bar Admission: Active license to practice law in California, in good standing.
Experience Level: 4+ years of litigation experience in a law firm or in-house environment, with a primary focus on IP and commercial litigation for business clients. Advocacy & Communication: Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, with strong attention to detail and organization. Workstyle: Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting. Ethics: Commitment to ethical practice, client service, and maintaining professional, inclusive working relationships.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
