The Mission At Aspect, we are reimagining the human experience at work. As we build Aspect Intelligence, our next-generation cloud-native, AI-driven platform, we are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer to help architect and build scalable, resilient distributed systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role—setting architectural direction while staying close to the code and turning complex designs into reliable, production-ready software. Is this your next job Read the full description below to find out, and do not hesitate to make an application.
The Role: As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will play a key role in architecting and building the next generation of our cloud-native SaaS platform. You will combine deep distributed systems expertise with hands-on engineering, setting technical direction while working directly with engineering teams to turn architecture into production software. This is not a pure architecture role. You will remain close to the code, designing and building systems using our modern React, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and Kubernetes/EKS stack while driving architectural decisions across teams.
Key Responsibilities: Architect Distributed Systems: Own the architecture and evolution of scalable, resilient, highly available distributed applications running in AWS and Kubernetes/EKS.Drive Modern Application Architecture: Set technical direction and engineering patterns across our React, TypeScript, and Node.js stack, including APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures. Remain Hands-On: Work directly with code and production systems—build prototypes, review critical implementations, troubleshoot complex problems, and help translate architecture into working software. Provide Staff+ Technical Leadership: Drive architecture and design decisions across engineering teams, lead technical/design reviews, and mentor senior engineers while establishing pragmatic engineering standards.
Who You Are: Experienced Staff+ Engineer: 10+ years of building production software, with demonstrated ownership of architecture and technical direction for complex enterprise SaaS applications. Distributed Systems Expert: Deep experience designing and building scalable, resilient, highly available distributed systems in AWS or another major public cloud, including solving real-world scalability, resiliency, and production reliability challenges. Modern Application Engineer: Strong and recent hands-on experience with React, TypeScript, and Node.js, ideally building complex, multi-tenant enterprise SaaS products. Cloud-Native / Kubernetes Engineer: Deep production experience building and operating applications on Kubernetes/EKS, including microservices, containerization, scaling, service communication, resiliency, and production troubleshooting. Hands-On Architect: You can set architecture and technical direction but still write code, prototype solutions, troubleshoot production issues, and work directly with engineering teams. We are not looking for a pure Enterprise or Solutions Architect. Technical Leader: Proven ability to drive significant architectural decisions across multiple teams, lead design reviews, influence engineers without direct authority, and mentor senior technical talent. AI & Domain Experience: Experience with Agentic AI, LLMs, MCP, WFM, CCaaS, or workforce orchestration is a plus, but not required.
The Tech Stack:
  • Application: React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, C#/.NETData & Messaging: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Redis, KafkaCloud Ecosystem: AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, Flux CD, Terraform/Ansible

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
