About the role

Accounts Payable ClerkThe accounts payable clerk is responsible for weekly check runs to pay the bills incurred by the projects in day-to-day operations and provides clerical assistance for the Accounting Department. The AP clerk also acts as a backup for other team members. These responsibilities are carried out under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor and/or Manager. All duties are carried out adhering to the Corporate policies, procedures, standards and resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with the department that initiated the purchase
  • Generate year-end 1099'sPrepare and issue weekly check runs and ACH payments in accordance with payment terms and cash management guidelines
  • Keep accounting/invoices files up to date
  • Monitor AP aging and follow up on outstanding items to maintain accurate payable balances
  • Perform data entry of invoices into TRAILD and Acumatica
  • Resolve discrepancies for invoice and payment issues
  • Review and recording of expense reports
  • Review invoices for accuracy and verify a purchase order supports them, work order request, or other approved requisition document
  • Verify coding and bank instructions on invoices is accurate before data entry
  • Other duties as assigned by the accounts payable department
  • Qualifications and Skills
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Minimum 5-7+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in medium to large sized oil & gas company
  • Proficient with ERP systems, preferably OgsysData entry, general accounting knowledge, and experience with accounting software
  • Excellent technical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership characteristics and potential
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and perform effectively without close supervision
  • Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Pro required
  • Ability to use discretion concerning confidential and sensitive company information

  • Ability to work well with and through others internally and externally to the plants

  • Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, TRAILD, Acumatica, Integra, Excalibur, Great Plains, Wolfpak, Ogsys and/or other accounting software related to Oil & GasGood analytical and problem-solving capability

Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.
