About the role

Director of Sales & Strategy A global industrial technology organization is seeking a Director of Sales & Strategy to lead a North American business focused on mission-critical environments. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity combining sales leadership, go-to-market strategy, P&L ownership, and broader business strategy, with the potential to develop into a future General Manager leadership opportunity. The ideal candidate brings experience in a technical or industrial environment and has progressed beyond traditional sales leadership, with exposure to areas such as product management, operations, strategy, or broader business leadership.
What You’ll Do: Lead and develop an experienced North American sales organization. Own and execute the go-to-market strategy across direct and channel sales. Drive revenue growth, profitability, pipeline development, and expansion within key vertical markets. Develop strategic relationships with customers, channel partners, system integrators, OEMs, and end users. Identify new markets, channels, applications, and other opportunities for growth. Create territory, market-segment, and strategic-account plans. Drive accountability around prospecting, funnel management, opportunity management, and sales execution. Partner closely with marketing and other functions on strategic initiatives and new-product commercialization. Bring a broader business perspective beyond sales, with the ability to grow toward future general-management responsibility.
What We’re Looking For: 7+ years of sales experience with 5+ years in sales leadership. Experience directly managing sales professionals and driving performance against revenue goals. Demonstrated P&L ownership. Strong background in a technical, industrial, or engineered-product environment. Experience with complex go-to-market models involving channel partners, distributors, system integrators, or representative networks. Exposure to building automation, environmental monitoring, commercial HVAC/controls, instrumentation, sensors, or adjacent industrial technologies is highly desirable. Experience outside of pure sales, such as product management, operations, engineering, strategy, or general management, is strongly preferred. Strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to execute. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Location & TravelThis is a remote opportunity, with preference for candidates located on the East Coast or near a major airport. Candidates should be comfortable with approximately 50% travel, including regular travel to the Northeast.
Compensation: The anticipated total compensation opportunity is approximately $260,000–$300,000, including base salary and incentive compensation. Additional compensation elements may be considered depending on the candidate.
Why This Opportunity: This is more than a traditional sales leadership position. The organization is looking for someone who can lead the commercial function today while developing the broader business perspective required to potentially step into a General Manager-level role in the future.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
