About the role
Responsibilities:
Represent Municipal Utility Districts and provide day-to-day legal counsel to MUD clients Attend client board meetings and provide clear, practical legal advice on matters before the board Research and interpret Texas statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to MUD operations Advise clients regarding Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirements and regulatory matters Advise clients on compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act and Public Information (Open Records) Act Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, resolutions, settlements, and other legal documents Handle real estate matters, including conveyances, easements, and related documentation Prepare legal memoranda, opinions, and other written work product Represent clients in negotiations, administrative proceedings, and court hearings as needed Manage client files, deadlines, and multiple matters simultaneously Collaborate with attorneys and other team members while independently managing assigned matters Stay current on relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting MUD clients
