About the role

We're looking for a different kind of sales leader. BSI is searching for our next Strategic Sales Director – North America, and we're intentionally looking for a leader who can bring fresh thinking, strong commercial discipline, and a track record of building high-performing sales teams. You do not need to come from the standards, certification, or assurance industry. In fact, if you've built your career in enterprise technology, SaaS, cybersecurity, risk and compliance, professional services, advisory, or another complex B2B environment, we'd love to hear from you. This is a leadership role for someone who knows how to build a new-business engine — and lead from the front. You'll lead and develop a geographically dispersed team of Business Development professionals across the U.S. and Canada, with responsibility for accelerating new-business growth, strengthening our go-to-market approach, and helping our team win increasingly complex and strategic opportunities. We're looking for someone who can: • Coach and develop strong sellers into exceptional hunters • Build a culture of accountability, curiosity, collaboration, and high performance • Create and execute effective go-to-market and territory strategies • Bring rigor to pipeline management, forecasting, conversion, and sales execution • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles • Build trusted relationships with senior and C-suite decision-makers • Step into strategic opportunities and help the team advance and close business • Translate complex capabilities into compelling business value • Partner across Marketing, Operations, Training, Client Management, and senior leadership • Challenge how we've always done things and bring new ideas, approaches, and commercial best practices We're less interested in whether you already know our industry and more interested in how you've led, how you've grown a business, how you've developed people, and what you've actually delivered. BSI has an extraordinary portfolio spanning areas that matter to organizations right now, including cybersecurity, AI, sustainability, organizational resilience, quality, supply chains, training, and risk. The opportunity is to help us think bigger about how we take those capabilities to market.
What we're looking for: You'll bring significant experience in complex B2B sales, including demonstrated sales leadership, new-business development, strategic account growth, executive-level selling, and ownership of meaningful revenue targets. Most importantly, you'll have the numbers and stories to show what happened because you led the team. This role covers the U.S. and Canada and requires travel across North America as needed.
Compensation: Competitive base salary up to approximately $200,000, plus an annual bonus opportunity and comprehensive BSI benefits. If you're an accomplished sales leader who is excited by the opportunity to bring your experience into a new industry, build something meaningful, and help shape the next chapter of BSI's growth in North America, I'd love to connect. And if you're successful where you are and weren't necessarily looking — I'd still like to talk.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
