About the role

This contractor will support research on the use of AI in accounting. We’re looking for an experienced accounting professional with knowledge across multiple accounting functions, strong judgment, and the initiative to help shape new approaches to accounting work. The role requires someone who can work through ambiguity, contribute their own ideas, and move work forward independently. Scope Of Responsibilities Contribute accounting expertise and ideas to research projects. Review accounting materials for technical accuracy and quality, and provide clear, actionable feedback. Work with researchers to explore open questions and develop practical next steps. Qualifications / Profile 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience across multiple functions. A strong background at a leading accounting firm, or experience at a smaller firm or independent practice where you have taken on broader responsibilities and demonstrated strong initiative. Sound accounting judgment and a detailed understanding of how accounting work is performed in practice. A track record of taking ownership of unclear problems, deciding how to approach them, and delivering results with limited direction. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to explain accounting concepts and recommendations clearly. Strong spreadsheet skills and familiarity with accounting systems. Curiosity about AI and a willingness to research, experiment, and reconsider assumptions.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
