Position Overview:
The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting will lead all aspects of the Accounts Receivable function, including client invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP. This role ensures the accurate and efficient processing of client invoices, collections from clients and adherence to internal controls as they relate to Revenue Recognition while maintaining strict compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. As a key contributor to the broader accounting team, you will drive success by optimizing financial processes, enhancing internal controls, and implementing scalable best practices. As a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting, you will: Team Supervision, Revenue Accounting and AR Operations: Provide direction and support to team members, promoting development and maintaining a collaborative work environment. Manage the invoicing process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to agreed-upon terms and internal standards. Address and resolve complex billing issues, pricing discrepancies, and system-related errors, coordinating with internal teams as needed. Oversee the application of customer payments across various methods, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, investigate and resolve unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and variances. Support the Sr Manager, Tax & Treasury, perform routine reconciliations between cash receipts, bank records, and AR balances. Maintain ownership of key customer accounts, driving collection efforts and monitoring account performance. Escalate significant collection or credit concerns with appropriate recommendations to Sr. Director, Accounting Operations. Lead the resolution of deductions, returns, chargebacks, and other disputes. Work cross-functionally to validate claims, gather required documentation, and ensure timely closure. Track and analyze recurring issues related to deductions and disputes, maintaining detailed records. Support activities related to customer setup, credit assessments, and account maintenance. Ensure customer data and documentation are accurate and properly maintained. Financial Reporting: Evaluate aging data, payment patterns, and dispute activity to proactively manage collection risks. Monitor compliance with credit limits and payment terms, identifying potential risks. Oversee AR-related components of the close process, including reconciliations, agings, and write-offs. Preparing journal entries as appropriate for review by Sr Director, Accounting Operations. Prepare supporting schedules, analyses, and documentation for reporting and audit purposes. Act as a point of contact for audit activities relating to revenue recognition and accounts receivable, ensuring documentation is complete and processes are compliant. Monitor internal controls and identify any gaps, unusual activity, or potential risks requiring escalation. Drive initiatives to improve processes related to billing, collections, and dispute management. Develop and maintain reporting tools, KPIs, and dashboards to track performance and inform decision-making. Support enhancements to systems, automation efforts, and process improvements within the AR function. To be successful, you will need: Experience with external auditors as it relates to audit evidence Proven track record of excellent customer service and leadership over junior teams; Solid understanding of impact of day-to-day accounting operations related to revenue recognition, billing, collections, deferred revenue, accounts receivable and cash collections Strong knowledge of ASC 6065+ years experience in similar Financial Operations role focused on revenue accounting Proven ability to operate with integrity and ethics, and maintain highest standards of confidentiality Willingness and ability to meet and exceed established deadlines Dependability and reliability Be able to adjust to flexible work schedulesA “Can – Do” Attitude We prefer that you have: CPA preferred Big 4 Audit or similar experienceUS Public Company Experience Bachelor’s degree Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft Excel

This role is open to other states in which we currently operate. The posted salary range applies to candidates based in Washington, DC. Compensation for candidates in other locations may vary based on geographic differentials.
