About the role
- Assists the Director of Special Education with reports, timelines, correspondence, and other requirements specific to federal and state special education laws
- Schedules initial student Evaluation Report meetings with appropriate team members
- Assists the Director of Special Education and the School Psychologist with communications and correspondence, maintains a schedule of appointments, and makes arrangements for conferences and meetings
- Maintains appropriate student files
- Retrieves and manages data in electronic databases
- Facilitates School-Based Access Program (SBAP) with HTSD staff by collecting, organizing, and submitting required reporting forms to AIU and PDE while adhering to strict timelines
- Gathers and organizes state-regulated data and required documents for funding and reimbursement, specific to special education
- Assists with completion of District and state reports specific to special education and Title IIIAssists in maintaining timelines, deadlines, and IEP dates and documentation via web-based reporting system and extended school year (ESY) programming for students
- Answers telephones and addresses inquiries and requests in order to resolve issues
- Processes purchase orders, assists with budget preparation, and maintains supplies for relevant departments/areas
- Prepares and proofreads correspondence for appropriate edits and assists with the maintenance and organization for appropriate web pages
- Fulfills other relevant secretarial tasks and duties required by the immediate supervisor
- Provides necessary information to the transportation department for ongoing changes and needs of students requiring specialized transportation
