About the role

Senior Quality Engineer Zipliens is a leading lien resolution company that specializes in streamlining the lien process for personal injury law firms. Our work helps law firms operate more efficiently and helps the injured people they serve access settlement funds more quickly and accurately. We are looking for a senior quality engineer who is passionate about setting the quality standards for a growing engineering team and building the testing and evaluation that keeps complex, data-heavy products working correctly at scale. Zipliens is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team and lead quality for the applications we build for the legal industry. After several years of high growth, Zipliens has become a leader in lien resolution, a process required in most personal injury settlements. The software we build supports that work, so the quality of what we ship has a clear, real-world impact on law firms and the people they represent. We're scaling engineering significantly this year, and quality engineering is growing along with it. QA at Zipliens is embedded in the engineering teams and combines exploratory testing with automation. As the senior on the team, you'd set the standards the rest of the team works to: what sufficient coverage looks like, what gates a merge and a deploy, which frameworks and tools we standardize on, and how the quality engineers we add this year learn to think about risk. You'll have context available rather than a blank slate, and your judgment will shape the team's standards rather than just inheriting them. We also build with AI as a first-class part of the workflow, and that applies to testing as much as to development. Our product uses LLMs to extract structure from medical records and lien correspondence, so deciding how non-deterministic output gets validated before release is a core part of this role. We also use agentic coding tools and internal skills and harnesses we've written ourselves to build and maintain automation, and you'd be expected to use them well, set the standard for how their output gets reviewed, and evaluate new tools as they come along.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
