About the role

Power Systems Engineer — Data Centers & Mission-Critical Facilities (Remote) As a Power Systems Engineer at Critical Facility Group, you'll perform power system studies and design electrical systems for data center and mission-critical facility construction — running load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, arc flash, and Neher-McGrath analyses that determine whether a facility's power infrastructure actually holds up under real conditions. You'll also see your analysis shape real decisions. You'll design UPS, generator, and critical power system topologies, develop planning and design concepts, and prepare technical reports and presentations for internal teams and clients.
The Opportunity: This role fits an experienced power systems engineer who wants deep technical ownership — not just running studies, but shaping how critical power systems get designed from the ground up. You'll work across load calculations, system modeling, and design/build coordination on projects where the analysis has to be right, because the facility can't afford for it not to be.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform and review power systems analysis, including load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, arc flash, and Neher-McGrath studies
  • Design UPS, generator, and critical power system components and topologies
  • Conduct planning and system performance studies for compliance with applicable standards and good engineering practice
  • Perform system assessments and prepare technical reports
  • Plan and conduct inspections and investigations on facility and system construction and design
  • Create and develop planning and design concepts for projects
  • Prepare presentation drawings and assist with internal and client presentations
  • Perform load calculations and power system modeling using discipline-specific design software
  • What You'll Bring 8+ years of engineering experience
  • Proficiency in SKM, ETAP, or related power system modeling software
  • Experience with project management
  • Familiarity with applicable electrical codes and standards
  • Strong analytical skills and effective communication with project teams
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in critical facilities or data centers is a plusA Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
Why Critical Facility GroupWe're a remote-first team, and the people on it bring years of experience in data center design, construction, and operations. As a Power Systems Engineer, your analysis directly shapes how these facilities get built, working alongside people who understand exactly why that analysis has to hold up. Critical Facility Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
