About the Role The Chief Operating and Strategy Officer (COSO) will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic leadership and organizational effectiveness of Excel Academy Charter Schools, a network of high-performing charter schools in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This is a new position and will oversee leaders across the following functional areas: Finance, Talent & HR, Data, and Real Estate. Have primary responsibility for Finance, Talent & HR, Data, Real Estate; each functional area is led by a Director or Managing Director who will report to this position, to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and excellence in execution. Finance (led by the Managing Director of Finance): Ensure financial strength and health in our expansion to align with organization strategy and other key functional areas in close partnership with the Managing Director of Finance. Talent & HR (led by the Director of Talent): Oversee all aspects of talent at both the school and network levels (i.e., recruiting, hiring, onboarding, HR compliance, performance management/evaluation, coaching/development, compensation/benefits, etc
The term Graduate Assistant is the umbrella term that encompasses all types of GA appointments.. Complementing the efforts of the teaching faculty, students are served through a personalized and structured approach that includes tutoring, Academic Success Peer Coaching, and Outreach Workshops on Learning Skills (OWLS).. The HR Employee Relations Consultant Sr. will be responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for associates and management for associate relations issues including but not limited to: investigations, agency charges (EEO, DOL), employment litigation, associate complaints, performance management, coaching, development, attendance, and other issues.. Provides oversight of the company's internal investigations of associate complaints and serves as a liaison to Legal on associate relations matters.. Partners with AR leadership and HRBP for requests for transition agreements related to the separation/termination process, and will regularly use persuasive and advanced communication skills to communicate will all levels of associates throughout the organization.. HR designation strongly preferred (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP )..
