Materials Characterization Engineer - Electrochemical Corrosion Testing (BH-400759) Location Santa Clara, United States Sector Engineering Salary $60.00 to $75.00 per hour Materials Characterization Engineer - Electrochemical Corrosion Testing This position supports a group of Materials and Process Engineers in the electrochemical testing of next generation materials and products, with a focus on metal alloys and their coatings. Candidate responsibilities include hands-on execution of electrochemical corrosion tests and keeping the electrochemical lab equipment calibrated and maintained. The successful candidate must possess the ability to manage multiple work requests simultaneously with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Required Experience: Electrolyte preparation and chemical management, including solution makeup to specification, pH control, inert gas deaeration, and proper chemical handling, storage, labeling, and waste disposal Hands-on experience performing chemical laboratory testing following established procedures and test requests Ability to calibrate and maintain electrochemical test equipment Excellent interpersonal skills Desired Experience B.S. in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field Experience operating potentiostats and three-electrode flat cells Metallographic preparation of samples for electrochemical testing (cut, mount, polish, degrease, mask) Familiarity with ASTM G5, G59, G61, and G106 or similar standards
