Position Summary:
The Prevailing Wage & Immigration Compliance Specialist is responsible for preparing Prevailing Wage Determination (PWD) requests and supporting PERM labor certification cases for employers, immigration attorneys, and foreign national professionals. This position combines immigration knowledge, labor market research, occupational classification analysis, and client service to ensure accurate wage determinations and compliant immigration filings. The specialist works closely with credential evaluation analysts, attorneys, HR professionals, and employers to develop appropriate job descriptions, determine minimum requirements, identify SOC/O*NET codes, and prepare ETA-9141 applications.
Essential Responsibilities:
Prevailing Wage Preparation Prepare ETA-9141 Prevailing Wage Determination requests Analyze job duties and minimum requirements Recommend appropriate SOC/O*NET occupational classifications Research prevailing wage levels using OFLC and OEWS wage data Determine appropriate wage level (Level I-IV) Review geographic wage implications Immigration Case Support Assist with PERM labor certification preparation Review education and experience requirements Coordinate with credential evaluation reports Draft legally compliant job descriptions Identify potential audit risks Support redetermination requests when appropriate Client Management Communicate with immigration attorneys and employers Explain wage determinations and methodology Collect supporting documentation Track case deadlines Maintain detailed case records Research & Compliance Stay current on: DOL regulations FLAG updates PERM guidance O*NET changes Occupational wage data
Preferred Qualifications:
Education Bachelor's degree in: International Relations, Political Science, or Immigration Studies, Public Policy, Business, Legal Studies,(Preferred)Master's degree (Preferred)Experience 3–5 years’ experience in: Immigration law, Business immigration PERM processing, Prevailing wage preparation, HR compliance, Labor certification Experience working with: ETA-9141, FLAG system, PERM applications, O*NET, SOC Codes, OFLC Wage Library
