About the role

IT Asset Specialist IIScottsdale, AZ - onsite 3 days per week 6 month, Contract to HireCDW is seeking an IT Asset Specialist II to manage the full lifecycle of enterprise IT hardware and software assets. This role will be responsible for asset tracking, procurement coordination, inventory management, software compliance, audits, and decommissioning activities. The ideal candidate has experience working with enterprise asset management processes, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of IT hardware, software licensing, and service management practices.
What You'll Do: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, receiving, deployment, reclamation, refresh, and disposal Maintain accurate inventory records for hardware, software licenses, mobile devices, servers, and network equipment Process hardware and software requests while ensuring compliance with company standards Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams to source assets and ensure timely delivery Generate reports on asset utilization, inventory status, license compliance, and procurement trends Conduct software compliance reviews and software reclamation activities Support hardware refresh initiatives and asset audits Investigate inventory discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions Prepare retired assets for disposal while ensuring secure data handling and regulatory compliance Partner with Desktop Support, Infrastructure, Security, Cloud, Procurement, and Software Owners to maintain accurate asset records Create remediation tickets and support compliance initiatives related to hardware and software assets
Required Qualifications: 2+ years of IT Asset Management experience Experience managing hardware and software asset inventories in an enterprise environment Experience with IT Asset Management (ITAM) and IT Service Management (ITSM) tools Indepth experience with Service Now HAM Pro and/or SAM Pro Strong understanding of IT hardware, software licensing, procurement, and asset lifecycle management Experience generating reports and analyzing asset-related data Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting mobile device management environments Experience working within highly regulated industries, including banking or financial services Understanding of software licensing compliance and regulatory requirementsCHAMP (Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional) or related IT Asset Management certification Top SkillsIT Asset Management (ITAM)Service Now HAM Pro / SAM Pro Asset Lifecycle Management Hardware & Software Inventory Management Software License ComplianceITSM Processes Vendor Management Procurement Coordination Microsoft Excel Audit & Compliance This is an excellent opportunity for an IT Asset professional looking to play a key role in optimizing asset utilization, reducing costs, improving compliance, and supporting enterprise-wide technology operations.
