Intellectual Property Specialist | Old Town Alexandria | Hybrid | Up to $85KWe have been retained by a highly regarded boutique intellectual property law firm in beautiful Old Town Alexandria to find an experienced Intellectual Property Specialist to join its patent prosecution support team. This is a terrific opportunity for someone with current patent prosecution support experience who is looking for a stable, long-term position with a well-established firm. The firm offers beautiful offices, free parking, an excellent benefits package, and a great hybrid schedule. Compensation & Schedule:• Salary up to $85K, depending on experience• Excellent benefits package• Free parking• Monday–Wednesday in the office• Thursday–Friday remote• Hours: 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.• Beautiful Old Town Alexandria office location
The Position: The Intellectual Property Specialist will provide hands-on support throughout the patent prosecution process, including:• Reviewing and electronically filing patent prosecution documents with the USPTO• Preparing and proofreading client correspondence• Managing deadlines and maintaining an independent workload• Ensuring documents are accurate, complete, and filed in a timely manner• Working closely with attorneys and other members of the patent prosecution team
What We Are Looking For: • Minimum 2 years of current patent prosecution secretarial or legal support experience• Experience with USPTO filings and patent prosecution procedures• Excellent proofreading and editing skills• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities• Advanced Microsoft Word skills• Fast and accurate typing skills of at least 50 WPM• Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently in a fast-paced environment
