About the role
- Doctorate or terminal degree
- A record of teaching, scholarship, and service sufficient to warrant appointment, with tenure, at the rank of associate professor or professor at New York Institute of Technology
- Successful and demonstrated experience with faculty development (e.g., designing and delivering faculty development programming)
- Knowledge and experience with policy, curriculum, and contracts
- Demonstrated ability to work well with and earn the trust of both faculty and administrators
- Working knowledge of faculty personnel processes, including reappointment, promotion, and tenure review
- Working knowledge of evidence-based pedagogy, inclusive teaching practice, and course design
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write clearly about policy and to facilitate effectively across disciplines
- Sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters
- A record of teaching, scholarship, and service sufficient to warrant appointment, with tenure, at the rank of professor at New York Institute of Technology
- Experience working within a collective bargaining environment
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible academic leadership experience — for example, as a department chair, associate dean, center director, or comparable role
- Experience at a university with professional and technical programs, multiple campuses, and a substantial graduate and international student population
- Familiarity with regional and specialized accreditation requirements as they pertain to faculty qualifications and credentialing
- Experience supporting online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced instruction
- Experience with budget management and staff supervision
