About the Role: Our client is seeking a seasoned and safety-conscious Drilling Operations Supervisor to oversee drilling activities in and around George. You will be responsible for the efficient and safe execution of drilling programs, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. This critical role involves managing rig operations, coordinating personnel, and troubleshooting technical challenges encountered during drilling campaigns. The ideal candidate will possess a strong operational background and a proven ability to lead teams effectively in challenging field conditions.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise and manage all aspects of drilling operations on location, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Plan and coordinate daily drilling activities, including personnel scheduling, equipment readiness, and logistical support. Monitor drilling progress, analyze drilling parameters, and implement corrective actions to maintain optimal performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and environmental standards. Manage inventory of drilling supplies and equipment, coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to foster a strong safety culture among the drilling crew.
Requirements: Proven experience as a Drilling Supervisor or similar operational leadership role in the Oil & Gas sector. Extensive knowledge of drilling equipment, techniques, and well control procedures. Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations relevant to drilling operations. Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a high-pressure environment. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under operational constraints. Relevant certifications in drilling operations and safety are highly desirable.
