Role Overview: The Residency Program Director and Hematology Oncology Pharmacist provides expert pharmaceutical care, ensuring safe, effective, and cost-efficient drug therapy for patients.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive hematology and oncology medication management, including review, dosing, and safety monitoring. Oversee and mentor pharmacy residents, students, and staff, fostering professional development and clinical excellence. Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy and resolve drug-related issues. Participate in clinical rounds and provide expert consultation on drug therapy and pharmacokinetics. Develop and implement evidence-based protocols and cost-effective medication strategies. Ensure accurate medication preparation, dispensing, and sterile compounding. Monitor medication utilization trends and financial performance to guide strategic decisions. Manage pharmacy operations, including resource use, staff performance, and compliance with regulatory standards. Provide education and drug information to healthcare professionals. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in patient care and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills: A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy is required; a Doctoral Degree in Pharmacology is preferred. The role demands clinical expertise, leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, along with adherence to regulatory standards.
