About the role
A leading private markets advisory firm is looking for an experienced Real Estate Fund Accountant to join a fund accounting team supporting a large, newly launched private real estate fund. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role with real ownership over the work from day one.
What you'll be doing:
- Quarter-end close and cleanup activity across a newly launched RE fund
- Journal entries and GL maintenance
- Capital calls, distributions, and partner capital accounts
- Quarterly financial statement preparation and investor reporting
- Supporting external audit processes
- What we need:3 to 7 years of fund accounting experience
- Real estate fund experience is essential — candidates without this will not be considered
- Strong close process skills — journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement preparation
- Background from a fund administrator (Gen II, SS&C, Alter Domus, Citco, Apex) or in-house at an asset manager
- Comfortable with a contract structure and available to start within 2 weeks5 days onsite in Lower Manhattan — no exceptions
