About the role

About the
Client: Our client is a Series A startup that reimagines the commerce layer for building materials suppliers. The platform connects dealers, contractors, and suppliers through a system built around how the industry actually works: job-site deliveries, trade accounts, ERP-native pricing, mobile-first ordering. They've crossed the $5M ARR mark this year. 130+ suppliers across the US and Canada run their operations through the platform today, and thousands of transactions move through it daily.
The Opportunity: The founding team spent the last year rewiring how the company works with AI: sales runs its own agent-built operations layer, finance is moving onto an AI-native ERP, engineering ships most of its code through AI-assisted workflows. You will drive the roadmap across the core platform, ordering, payments, catalog, integrations, and AI capabilities. Design and maintain the operating system for how product work gets done. Build agent-assisted workflows for feature request triage, competitive monitoring, status reporting, and roadmap communication. Accelerate engineering development cycles by automating handoffs, specs, and coordination between product and engineering. Your goal is to run a product function that punches far above its headcount by combining human judgment with AI-driven execution. You’ll own the platform to ERP integration strategy across our dealer ecosystem. Epicor Bis Track, Epicor Eagle, ECI Spruce, DMSI Agility are core supported ERPs. Knowing where to build, where to partner, and where to hold the line is a required skill here. The Skills/Requirement Needed to Succeed: You're currently leading Product at a B2B2C startup that has grown from sub-$5M to $10M+ ARR.Ideally you've been THE product leader at a startup more than once. Ideally one of them was a 2-sided Marketplace. Recent, hands-on experience building AI-assisted workflows for your own team's operations: agent-built specs, automated handoffs, automated status reporting, beyond shipping AI features to customers. Comfort working through ERP, payments, or other complex third-party integrations, and the judgment to know where to build, where to partner, and where to hold the line. Martyn Bassett Associates: Martyn Bassett Associates is a team of recruiters solving the ambitious goals of startups and scale-ups by recruiting world-class sales, marketing, and product management talent who deliver growth and scale. We’ve helped over 1500 candidates land their next big opportunity at companies like Shopify, Extreme Networks, Wattpad, Loopio, Readdle, Clear Co, Workleap, Invicti, Resolve Pay, The Herjavec Group, GE Energy, GE Health, Enable, RBC Ventures, Unibuddy, Cognota, Thalmic Labs (now Google Glass), Eloqua (now Oracle Marketing Cloud) to name a few.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
