About the role

Overview: MaineHealth Primary Care Family Medicine, a department of Franklin Hospital, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to provide care at our office based in Farmington, Maine. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team including two physicians and three Advanced Practice Providers (APP) with outstanding support staff. Franklin’s Primary Care services include physical exams, women’s health exams, sick visits, well-child visits, school and sports physicals, and management of chronic health conditions. Blood work and lab services are on site, and inpatient care is at Franklin Hospital. Call requirements are 1:6 and providers will occasionally make nursing home rounds. The position offers teaching opportunities with nurse practitioners/physician assistants and medical students from the University of New England’s UNECOM program and Tufts University Medical School program.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive primary care to a patient population in a rural setting.
  • Perform physical examinations, preventive care, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Coordinate care with on-site blood work and lab services and inpatient services at Franklin Hospital.
  • Participate in teaching opportunities for residents, medical students, and APPs.
  • Provide occasional nursing home rounds as part of call coverage (1:6).QualificationsMD/DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • Family Medicine/Internal Medicine experience is preferred but not required.
