About the role
Position Summary:
The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator oversees maintenance activities for a large fleet of heavy construction equipment. This role is responsible for coordinating repairs, managing work orders, and driving equipment uptime by ensuring maintenance issues are addressed quickly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage maintenance requests from initiation through completion. Prioritize critical equipment breakdowns and urgent repair needs. Coordinate repair activities with technicians, field personnel, vendors, and dealerships. Act as the primary liaison with equipment suppliers and service providers regarding repairs, parts availability, warranties, and service timelines. Review repair quotes and facilitate approval processes. Maintain accurate maintenance records, labor data, and repair costs within the fleet management system. Track fleet performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce recurring issues. Communicate equipment status and availability to operational teams. Support initiatives focused on minimizing downtime and maximizing fleet utilization. Required Skills/Experience: 2+ years of experience supporting maintenance operations for heavy equipment or construction fleets. Experience using CMMS, fleet maintenance, or asset management software. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. Familiarity working with major heavy-equipment manufacturers and service networks such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, or John Deere. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong coordination, organization, and follow-up skills. Effective communicator with the ability to work across internal teams and external partners. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Nice-to-Have:
Skills/Experience: Experience supporting large-scale fleets with a high volume of assets. Background in construction, infrastructure, mining, or heavy industrial equipment maintenance.
