About the role

Overview As an AWS-focused Python ML Developer at lead level, you will drive backend development and system integration for an internal AI-assisted platform. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test scalable cloud solutions and ML-enabled features that support financial queries. You will mentor peers, ensure security and architecture standards, and help advance an internal virtual advisor tool akin to a co-pilot. This role combines cloud, ML, and frontend touches (React) to deliver impactful, production-ready software. Responsibilities Architect, develop, and implement applications and databases with a backend focus Integrate third-party products and translate specifications into code Write, test, and document code and artifacts, supporting automated testing Deploy code through development, test, and production environments and provide production support Lead change control, compliance with IT/Security policies, and participate in reviews Mentor and coach junior staff and resolve elevated issues Participate in design, code, and test inspections across the lifecycle Communicate technical considerations to internal clients and cross-functional teams Understand client business functions and technology needs and align with Vanguard-like tech stack Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address systems issues at the appropriate level Key requirements 10+ years of industry experience Hands-on knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, Glue, IAM, Cloud Formation)Strong Python programming and testing skills (unit and end-to-end)Proficiency in Java Script and React UI development Experience in API development Backend-focused role with some frontend exposure Mentoring and coaching Cross-functional collaboration Strong communication of technical conceptsAWS Lambda DynamoDBS3
