About the role

About Superior Sports Superior Sports is a basketball agency representing players in the NBA, in international leagues, and in college NIL. Our Founder and Managing Partner, Mitchell August, is an NBPA Certified and FIBA Licensed agent. We work with players from the recruiting process through their professional careers, in the U.S. and overseas. About the role We're adding interns to our basketball operations team to scout college players. Each intern is assigned one conference. You'll watch its games, evaluate its players, and write the reports our senior agents use to decide who to recruit and how to value them. You report directly to our senior agents. The role is remote. Some assignments may require travel to games, and Superior covers approved travel costs. What you'll do - Own your conference: track its players, watch games live and on film, and keep your player board current- Send scouting reports to our senior agents on your own initiative when a player stands out- Do deeper dives when an agent asks, including full film breakdowns, statistical context, and background notes- Build player comps that show earning potential, using comparable players' NIL deals, revenue-share figures, and professional contracts- Track roster moves, transfer portal activity, and NIL market trends across your conference- Flag players who fit Superior's recruiting priorities What we're looking for - Deep knowledge of college basketball: conferences, programs, coaching staffs, and the transfer portal- Strong working knowledge of NIL and revenue sharing, and how player value is set in today's college game- The ability to evaluate a player and explain that evaluation clearly in writing- Comfort with film and data tools such as Synergy, Hudl, Ken Pom, Bart Torvik, or similar- Self-direction. You'll set your own viewing schedule and be accountable for your conference- Discretion. Our reports are confidential Preferred, not required - Scouting experience at any level: college, high school, AAU, media, or independent- Experience on a college basketball staff as a manager, video coordinator, or student assistant- Coursework in sports management, analytics, business, or a related field Details - Unpaid internship with academic credit available (subject to your school's approval)- Performance bonus when a player you flag signs with Superior- 10 to 15 hours per week, flexible schedule- Immediate start, flexible term- Remote, with occasional company-paid travel to games- Open to U.S.-based applicants only- Interns do not contact players, families, or coaches on Superior's behalf. Our agents handle all outreach- A confidentiality and work product agreement is required What you'll get - Direct work with senior agents on live recruiting decisions- A portfolio of scouting reports and player valuations you can point to- Mentorship and a reference for agency, front office, and college staff roles How to apply Apply through Linked In and attach a one-page scouting report on a current college player of your choice. Tell us which conference you know best. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
