This highly multidisciplinary position isintended to expand the University of Houston’s strengths inimaging, biomaterials, tissue engineering, regenerativeengineering, and translational biomedical engineering. The ideal candidate will develop an independent research programfocused on the design, fabrication, characterization, imaging, andbiological evaluation of advanced biomaterials for tissue repair, regeneration, and disease modeling. The ideal candidate should havenotable experience with imaging, 3D-printed andadvanced-manufactured biomaterial platforms, includingextracellular matrix-derived, decellularized, mineralized collagen, cryogel, polymer-ceramic, and/or composite scaffold systems. Areasof interest include musculoskeletal tissue engineering; bone, cartilage, and osteochondral repair; osteoarthritis modeling andtreatment; drug delivery; and biomaterial strategies that modulateinflammation, macrophage polarization, mesenchymal stem cellbehavior, osteogenesis, angiogenesis, and other cell-materialinteractions. Experience with high-throughput scaffold orbiomaterial screening platforms, in vitro co-culture systems, quantitative materials characterization, microscopy-based analysissuch as multiphoton microscopy, and relevant preclinical models ishighly desirable. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to connectimaging and biomaterials innovation with clinically relevantquestions, including the development of translational approachesfor improved tissue repair, implanted material response, andregenerative medicine. The candidate should be prepared to buildcollaborations with faculty across engineering, medicine, cancerbiology, orthopedics, materials science, and translationalresearch, and to contribute to interdisciplinary institutes andexternally funded team science. The candidate should have a strong publication record, a record oftechnical presentations, experience preparing competitive fundingapplications, and a clear plan for building an externally fundedresearch program. The candidate should also have strong teachingand mentoring experience and be prepared to teach undergraduate andgraduate courses in biomedical engineering, biomaterials, tissueengineering, regenerative medicine, and related quantitativeengineering topics. Excellent interpersonal skills, commitment tostudent mentorship, and readiness to initiate new internal andexternal collaborations are expected.
Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have PhD in Biomedical Engineering or related field. Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
