About the role
Flex Substitute Bus Driver Positions: Flex Substitute Bus Driver
Reports to: Director of Transportation
Required Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older
- Must have or be able to obtain: Class A or B CDL with S and P endorsement along with an air break endorsement.
- Pass state required Physical exam and drug screening.
- State required fingerprinting, driver's license and background check.
- Attend and complete a State safety education class, written and driving skill tests.
- Applicant should have ability to interact with both students and parents in a positive manner.
- Experience, preferred.
Responsibilities:
Obeys all traffic laws.
Observes all mandatory safety regulation for school buses.
Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
Keep assigned bus clean.
Keeps assigned schedule.
Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
Discharges students only at authorized stops.
Exercises responsible leadership when on out of district school trips.
Transports only authorized students.
Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
Endorses regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
