Job DescriptionGENERAL SUMMARY:
Laborer/Tool Room Attendant to join our Delphinus Team in managing our tool room operations and supporting daily shop activities. This position is responsible for maintaining custody, control, and maintenance of company-owned, rented, and government-owned tools and equipment. The Tool Room Custodian ensures proper calibration tracking, inventory management, and tool accountability while supporting production teams with equipment needs. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work effectively with project managers, technicians, and external vendors.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Tool Room Management:
Maintain custody, control, and maintenance of all tools and equipment while in storageReceive and inspect tools when returned from project teamsEnsure all tools issued are in safe working condition, electrically safety checked, calibrated (as required), and with all required safety guardsMaintain secure, locked storage for all calibrated equipment segregated by calibration statusPurchase new tools as required and initiate survey forms to replace broken, damaged, or lost toolsInventory Control: Conduct regular inventory of all tools and equipmentMaintain master inventory list and update status as tools are checked out and returnedTrack tool location by job number, employee assignment, and storage locationIdentify inventory deficiencies and coordinate with management for procurementUpdate inventory spreadsheet with all tool movements and status changesPerform monthly verification of inventory accuracyCalibration Coordination: Track calibration due dates for all Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) Provide "Calibration Due" notifications to personnel and managers at least one month prior to expirationCoordinate with approved calibration laboratories for calibration servicesMaintain calibration records in accordance with company retention requirementsTrack calibration intervals per NAVSEA OD 45845 (METRL/METPRO) Shop Support: Assist with general shop labor duties as assigned by Shop ManagerSupport production teams with equipment needs and troubleshootingCoordinate with warehouse personnel on material handling and storageMaintain clean and organized tool room and storage areasSupport and participate in Delphinus continual improvement programs/trainingPerform all other duties as assigned by the Shop ManagerEXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:Required: Work experience in tool room operations, inventory management, or related fieldStrong organizational and time management skillsPunctual, reliable, and detail orientedAbility to maintain accurate records and documentationBasic knowledge and use of computer systems, software, and applications (Microsoft Office Products - Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to lift heavy objects (approximately 50 lbs) Forklift operation certification or ability to obtain same is essentialValid driver's license and the maintenance of a driving record satisfactory to Delphinus Engineering, Inc.
