Job Description Job Description Position Summary: We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-focused Forklift operator to support warehouse and distribution operations at a high-volume facility located in Jeffersonville, IN. This position is responsible for safely operating a sit-down, propane-powered single/double Toyota forklift to move, load, unload, and stage materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This position will spend approximately 98% of the time on the forklift and will be responsible for inspecting pallets after each pull. If damage is identified, you will be expected to restack the pallet, remove the damage portion, and re-wrap it.
Responsibilities: Operate a sit-down, propane-powered single/double Toyota forklift to safely transport materials throughout the warehouse and designated work areas. Inspect pallets after each pull. If damaged is identified, restack the pallet, remove the damaged portion, and re-wrap. Work as part of a team to load and/or unload materials. Accurately pick, pack, check, and load products to and from designated areas in the facility, as well as on and off trailers. Move materials packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility. Stack loads in the correct storage bays, following inventory-control instructions. Keep accurate production records and report issues. Inspect equipment, report safety or operational issues, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow OSHA requirements, PPE guidelines, company safety procedures, and quality standards.
Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 2-5 years of relevant forklift experience and experience operating sit-down, propane-powered single/double Toyota forklifts. Ability to sit for 98% of the time on a sit-down, propane-powered single/double Toyota forklift. Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently. Radio communication will be a significant part of the role. Ability to work 6 days a week, or 7 consecutive days when required. Basic computer and math skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, prioritize tasks, and meet productivity requirements. Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from multiple supervisors. Ability to learn and perform multiple warehouse functions through cross-training. Physical ability to lift weight up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable assistance.
Schedule: 1st Shift 6 - Days 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Saturday 2nd Shift 6-Days 3:30 pm - 12: 00 am Monday - Saturday Possibility of Sunday's becoming mandatory. Shifts may become 12-hour shifts, 6:30 am - 6:30 pm Additional Information - Schedule & Attendance Expectations The operation runs Monday-Saturday, with employees potentially working Sunday as well, depending on business needs. There is essentially zero downtime, so reliability and attendance are extremely important. Employees may be asked to work 7 consecutive days. If an employee works all 7 days, the 7th day is paid at double-time. Sunday will first be offered on a volunteer basis, but if there are not enough volunteers, it may become mandatory. Employees are expected to follow an attendance point system. New employees will eventually transition to a 12-hour shift schedule.
