The Project Accountant is responsible for managing a high volume of invoicing while working in conjunction with Senior Project Accountants, Finance Leaders and Project Managers to ensure projects are set up appropriately and all invoices sent to the client are correct.Attributes to support the NELSON Culture:Go All In. Other duties may be assigned:Ensure accurate project setup in Deltek VantagepointSupport contract review to ensure project setup and invoicing conform to contract termsIssue a high volume and high complexity of invoices while working in conjunction with Project Managers to ensure all invoices sent to the client are correct and appropriateProactively manage unbilled time and expenses to ensure all aging balances are addressed by the Project ManagerSubmit all invoices to the clientsVerify subcontractor and vendor invoices to ensure adherence to contract terms.Manage collection of accounts receivable and reconciliation of cash receiptsAssist Project Managers with accounts receivable tracking and collection effortsTrain Project Managers in billing processes and proceduresMentor & train Project AccountantsSupport onboarding of Project ManagersManagement of Missing Rates toolAssist with Project Review Meetings as neededSupport Finance Leader as neededPoint of escalation for billing & project challenges and inquiriesProject forecastingPrepare ad hoc reports and provide detailed and timely financial information to leadership as neededMaintain accounting files and recordsEducation / Experience:High school diploma required, Bachelors' degree is preferredMinimum of two years' experience in a high volume billing department, or equivalent combination of education and experienceThis is an hourly position.
