About the role
To strengthen community-based oral health practice and workforce capacity, the Community-based Oral Health Workforce Development Specialist will provide dental hygiene expertise, contribute to continuing education and practice-based training, and offer technical assistance in a remote position that may be full- or part-time.
Key responsibilities:
Provide dental hygiene expertise to community-based oral health initiatives and practice transformation activities
Develop and review educational content for continuing education and professional learning activities
Offer technical assistance to dental hygienists and community organizations in implementing oral health practices and workforce strategies Required qualifications 8 years of experience in dental hygiene, community-based oral health, public health, or a related practice setting; a Master's degree may substitute for two years of experience
Bachelor's degree or four additional years of relevant experience
Current California Registered Dental Hygienist and Registered Dental Hygienist in Alternative Practice License
Experience in education, workforce development, or technical assistance related to oral health
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projects
