About the Role:
The Company is seeking a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to serve as a transformational, mission-centered executive. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the human resources enterprise, modernizing systems and processes, and positioning HR as a strategic, solutions-oriented partner. This role demands a seasoned HR leader with deep expertise across the full HR portfolio, experience in leading change within a complex and highly unionized environment, and the ability to translate institutional priorities into effective workforce strategies. The CHRO will also play a central role in strengthening relationships across the university and within the broader system, fostering productive labor-management relationships, and serving as a liaison to the Chancellor's Office and HR colleagues across sister campuses. Applicants for the CHRO position at the company should have a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of senior-level HR leadership experience, with a preference for those holding an advanced degree or senior-level HR certification. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leading change, building effective teams, and using data to improve service and organizational performance. The role requires a visible, approachable, and collaborative leader who can navigate complexity with steadiness and advance practical solutions with credibility and care. The CHRO will be expected to be a trusted partner in a dynamic, mission-driven, and unionized public university environment, and to demonstrate strong labor and employee relations acumen, sound judgment, and a commitment to the values of the institution. Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
