About the role

About the Role: This role sits inside the core engineering team building the systems that execute the firm's trading strategies in production, where microseconds and correctness both matter. The systems this engineer works on touch order flow, market data processing, and execution infrastructure directly. A bug here doesn't get caught in a postmortem next quarter, it shows up in the market that same second.
What You'll Do: Design, build, and maintain low-latency systems for market data processing and trade execution Optimize for performance at the level of memory layout, network I/O, and CPU cache behavior Debug and resolve production issues in real time during live trading hours Collaborate with quant researchers and traders to translate strategy requirements into production systems Review code and system designs with a small team of senior engineers Contribute to architecture decisions for systems that scale with trading volume, not headcount Must-Haves Proven track record of shipping production systems at a top-tier engineering organization: a major tech company, a frontier AI lab, or a leading neo lab. This is non-negotiable for the role Deep expertise in a systems-level language (C++ preferred)Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and performance optimization Comfort operating in a small team without the scaffolding of a large engineering org Ability to reason about correctness and performance simultaneously under production pressure Nice-to-Haves Prior exposure to trading systems, exchanges, or financial market infrastructure Experience with kernel-level networking or hardware-level optimization Competitive programming or systems research background Experience mentoring engineers or leading small technical initiatives Nice-to-Haves No finance background required. Strong engineers from big tech, frontier labs, or neo labs who want to see their code run in production immediately are encouraged to apply Why This Role This is a small, elite engineering team where every hire changes the shape of the platform. Compensation is top of market, meaningfully above standard big tech comp for equivalent engineers. The pace is fast, the ownership is real, and there is no layer of process between writing code and it running in production. For an engineer who wants their work to matter the day they ship it, not the quarter after, this is that.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
