Payroll Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join a dynamic team in one of the largest healthcare organizations in the country. This role involves a blend of hands-on payroll processing, analytical tasks, and a chance to contribute to major system transitions (PeopleSoft to Workday). You’ll be working with a dedicated team to process payroll for approximately 8,000 employees, resolve discrepancies, and contribute to a smooth payroll cycle for a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities: Process bi-weekly in-house payroll for 8,000 employees, handling all aspects from data loads to resolving discrepancies and conducting audits Manage multi-state payroll processing (experience with multi-state is a plus) Support out-of-cycle payroll processing and advance pay for physicians and practices Handle payroll audits and ensure compliance with federal and state laws Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to resolve payroll issues and provide technical support Transition payroll processes from PeopleSoft to Workday (experience with large ERP systems is required) Assist with tax and garnishment filings and maintain state tax accounts Provide excellent customer service to employees, responding to inquiries and processing paycheck issues Perform period-end processes, including W-2 audits, and assist with year-end processes
