About the role

Special Needs Bus AideMust have a positive working relationship with bus driver, parents, and students with disabilities. Must be physically able to perform duties for students in wheelchairs or with other special needs. Prior experience preferred. CPI training is required. Training will be scheduled and provided by HHCS.
Performance Responsibilities: Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus. Inspects transportation list of students to prevent unauthorized travel. Assists young or students with disabilities in getting on and off the bus. Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion, and safely to parent/guardian or school personnel. Provides written records of violations of the student code to the Transportation Supervisor. Reports disruptive students to the appropriate authorities where the child is enrolled. Collects and turns over to the transportation secretary those personal items left on the bus by students. Attends meetings as requested by the Transportation Supervisor. Completes all necessary forms as required and turns them in on time. Follows all policies adopted by the Board of Education, and laws set forth by the local and state government. Other duties as may be directed by the Transportation Supervisor.
