About the role

Creative Content/Video Production Assistant The College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters (CASL) Deans Office is looking for a creative, motivated content/video production assistant to elevate our digital presence through engaging video production and storytelling to be utilized across digital and social media platforms. ~10 hours/week in a hybrid format (in-person filming and on production, editing in our CASL media studios) Build your professional portfolio and contribute to real digital campaigns Make an impact by shaping how current and future students experience CASL online Networking and Mentorship from our professionals Capture and create content at CASL events, in courses, for programs, and around campus. Film, edit, and produce short videos and reels for our website and social media platforms like Instagram, Tik Tok, and You Tube. Serve as a production assistant to CASL Instructional Media Specialist, Rick Morrone involved in camera operation, audio recording, editing, for content featuring college programs, events, research, and initiatives. Collaborate with the CASL Digital Marketing & Content Specialist (April Marvin) to discuss content needs, for assignment of projects, touchbases, etc. Research current trends in higher ed social media and marketing, and Gen Z digital engagement, Identify viral content formats and adapt them for CASL messaging and brand. Benchmark content and video strategies from peer institutions and propose new ideas A UM-Dearborn student majoring in Journalism and Media Production, Communication, or Marketing (and/or Digital Photography and Design Certificate, Public Relations Minor or Certificate, Media Production Certificate.) Passionate about visual storytelling, dynamic social media trends. Skilled in photo/video editing, digital platforms, and comfortable behind the camera. Experience in media production courses or in the field of audio/video production. Knowledge of video and audio production workflows. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro or other video editing software. Proficiency with Zoom audio recorders. Proficiency with DSLR or mirrorless camera operation.
