About the role
- Oversees the timely completion and accuracy of all motor vehicle registration collection fees and property tax collections
- Assigns daily mail to Title and Registration Processor II's and Title and Registration Processor I'sCounts and issues daily cash boxes
- Orders, verifies and issues change for daily cash boxes
- Approves and issues supplies such as motor vehicle registration sticker books and license plates to Tax Office staff, franchise dealers, grocery stores and municipalities
- Responds to questions and complaints regarding section operations
- Receives purchase receipts and unused motor inventory from franchise dealers, grocery stores and municipalities and updates Tax Office inventory records in computer
- High School or a General Education Development (GED) certificate, and three years office experience in a cash collections environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good knowledge of motor vehicle title and registration and property tax collection procedures and processes.
- Skill in supervising cash collection employees; skill in performing basic mathematical calculations; skill in operating personal computer, 10-key adding machine, typewriter and basic office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to organize, compile and record information accurately; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, co-workers, other County employees, outside organizations and the general public.
- Must be able to maintain an effective attendance record/pattern
- May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
- Working Environment and Physical Demands:
- Working conditions are inside an office environment
- Physical requirements include lifting/carrying 10-20 lbs. occasionally
- Occasionally; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computer keyboard, 10-key adding machine, and basic office equipment. Frequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate information
- Positions self to perform essential functions
- Subject to sitting, standing, walking, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending to perform the essential functions
