Job Description
Summary:
Responsible for the interfacility ground transport of critically ill and injured pediatric patients. The care includes basic assessment, stabilization and preparation for ambulance transport within guidelines established by DPH and MUSC protocols, in collaboration with other members of the team. The EMT is primarily responsible for driving the ambulance and maintaining cleanliness and functionality of all vehicle equipment and supplies. As part of the team, the EMT may be asked to participate in hospital-based or flight program-based community outreach and education programs. The EMT is expected to uphold MUSC's standards of professionalism and complete all mandatory certifications and ongoing training as directed by the Clinical Manager, Medical Director or Training Officer. Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Work Experience: 0-6months. National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) EMT or Advanced EMT Certification. Ability to possess and maintain a South Carolina Emergency Medical Technician Basic or Advanced EMT Certification. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
