Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Model: 100% onsite – San Diego, CA 92123
Duration: 8-month W-2 assignment with potential for extension or conversion
Pay Rate: Up to $85/hour DOEAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Electric Rates & Regulatory Analyst to support electric rate design, analysis, implementation, and regulatory initiatives within a regulated utility environment. This role will analyze rate and customer data, support rate and tariff changes, and provide analytical support for regulatory proceedings. The ideal candidate will have direct electric utility rate experience, strong Excel skills, and experience working with regulatory filings, testimony, and data requests.
Responsibilities: Perform electric rate analysis to support rate design, pricing, and regulatory initiatives. Support the development and implementation of electric rates and tariff changes. Analyze rate, revenue, load, customer, financial, and operating data. Evaluate customer and revenue impacts of proposed rate changes. Develop and maintain Excel-based rate models, tools, and calculators. Support regulatory proceedings, rate applications, and filings. Prepare or contribute to regulatory testimony, workpapers, exhibits, and supporting documentation. Prepare responses to regulatory data requests. Perform analysis supporting regulatory strategy and company policy positions. Support cost allocation, cost recovery, and special contract rate analysis. Present findings and recommendations to leadership and internal stakeholders. Independently manage assigned projects and analytical workstreams.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.5+ years of relevant utility rates, rate design, regulatory analysis, or related experience preferred. Electric rate design and/or implementation experience with an investor-owned utility (IOU).California utility experience strongly preferred. Experience participating in or leading regulatory proceedings. Experience preparing or supporting regulatory testimony and responding to data requests. Knowledge of electric rates, tariffs, cost allocation, and cost recovery. Strong Excel and quantitative analysis skills. Ability to work independently with limited oversight. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
