About the role

We are looking for an accomplished commercial litigator to join a growing law practice in Downers Grove, Illinois. This role offers the chance to handle sophisticated civil disputes, work closely with experienced litigation partners, and take ownership of matters from initial filing through resolution. The position is well suited for an attorney who values high-quality advocacy, strong client service, and a collaborative team environment with meaningful long-term growth potential.
Responsibilities: Lead commercial and complex civil cases through all phases of litigation, from early assessment to final resolution. Formulate legal strategies, advise clients on case developments, and serve as a trusted point of contact throughout active matters. Prepare persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, and written discovery tailored to the needs of each case. Conduct and defend depositions involving fact witnesses, expert witnesses, and trial preservation testimony. Represent clients in contested hearings, emergency proceedings, and motion arguments before the court. Organize and deliver thorough preparation for mediations, arbitrations, evidentiary hearings, and trials. Negotiate favorable settlements when appropriate while protecting client objectives and litigation strategy. Partner with fellow attorneys on complex disputes, contributing insight, analysis, and coordinated case execution.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
