Departmental Secretary IThe Departmental Secretary I position in Biology is responsible for providing secretarial support to the department through a variety of routine office clerical duties such as preparation of documents, scheduling appointments, directing calls, recording meetings, maintaining calendar of events, opening and distributing incoming mail, keeping files and records for the department, assisting students, and other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentProficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Outlook CalendarExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsAbility to work individually and with diverse groups of administrators, faculty and staffA willingness to complete ongoing training to carry out a variety of job functionsPreferred Qualifications:Some college courseworkExperience in a higher education environmentWork Hours: 8:00am 5:00pm Monday through FridayList any hazardous conditions or physical demands required by this position: N/ADoes this position have supervisory responsibility?
