Function of Beauty is seeking a Senior Director of Omnichannel Marketing to lead the strategy, development, and execution of marketing across the consumer journey—from discovery to advocacy. This role is for an inspiring and data-driven marketing leader with deep expertise in brand building, full-funnel media, omnichannel marketing, and community engagement. You will help evolve Function of Beauty from a DTC-first audience into a dynamic, channel-agnostic community, using 1:1 consumer insights to drive brand growth, innovation, and advocacy. You will oversee brand strategy, and paid, owned, and earned media, ensuring consistent, fit-for-platform storytelling and a seamless brand experience across every channel. You will also build a world-class omnichannel CPG marketing organization that leverages AI and emerging technologies to enhance creativity, analytics, efficiency, and consumer insights while developing the talent behind our success. This role is based in our NYC headquarters and requires in-office presence four days per week (Monday–Thursday).
Key Responsibilities: Omnichannel Marketing Strategy Develop and execute a cohesive omnichannel marketing strategy that drives consumers from awareness through advocacy while delivering profitable growth. Partner with Omnichannel Sales to align marketing programs, budgets, and objectives across DTC, retail, eCommerce, and wholesale. Lead go-to-market strategy and execution for product launches, campaigns, and partnerships across paid, owned, and earned channels. Own marketing budgets and ensure efficient allocation and measurable contribution to the overall P&L.Brand Equity Evolve Function of Beauty’s positioning from a customization-first brand to a hair-type authority rooted in science-backed performance and community-driven resources. Ensure consistent, effective storytelling through fit-for-platform and fit-for-cohort content. Media Oversee paid, owned, and earned media with a focus on full-funnel optimization and profitable growth. Improve media efficiency through data-driven testing, measurement, and optimization. Transform our website from a DTC subscription commerce-first platform into an omnichannel, community-first destination. Build a best-in-class Retail Media Network strategy and ensure RMN investment drives profitable growth. Partner with Sales and external partners to make paid media a competitive advantage in Joint Business Planning and Line Reviews. Partner with Sales and Finance to balance commercial priorities with overall brand and business goals. Community Engagement & Advocacy Transform our DTC-first audience into a dynamic, channel-agnostic community that drives growth through authentic advocacy. Leverage 1:1 consumer insights to co-create products, resources, and content that deepen engagement and belonging. Build strategic partnerships with complementary, non-competitive brands to expand the resources and experiences available to our community. Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead the shift from channel-specific tactics to a unified omnichannel mindset. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and high empathy. Champion an AI-first approach to marketing and empower teams to use emerging technologies to enhance creativity, analytics, personalization, and efficiency. Drive strong cross-functional collaboration and clear ways of working across the organization. Lead agency, vendor, and brand partner relationships as an extension of the internal team.
Qualifications: 10 years of progressive marketing leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior role overseeing omnichannel, brand, and performance marketing. Proven success scaling a DTC-native CPG brand into mass retail while delivering profitable growth. U.S. CPG marketing experience required; international experience is a plus. Beauty, personal care, or a similar consumable category strongly preferred. Experience driving growth across DTC, retail, eCommerce, and wholesale. Deep expertise in full-funnel media, Retail Media Networks, and shopper marketing. An AI-first mentality with experience using emerging technologies to improve creativity, personalization, analytics, and efficiency. Strong expertise in brand positioning, storytelling, and building consumer advocacy. Experience developing integrated go-to-market strategies for launches, campaigns, and partnerships. Ability to combine creative vision with analytical rigor and a data-driven approach to media and measurement. Proven experience building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing marketing teams. Strong cross-functional partnership skills across Sales, Finance, Operations, and Function Labs. Experience managing agencies, vendors, and strategic brand partners.
