Job Summary: We are looking for a Project Engineer / Field Engineer to support heavy civil, water, and wastewater construction projects. This is a great opportunity for an entry-level candidate or someone with up to 3 years of experience who wants to grow their career in construction.
Key Responsibilities: Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with day-to-day construction activities. Organize, manage, and track project documents, including plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and as-built documents. Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Monitor construction activities and provide field observations. Assist with project scheduling, coordination, quality control, and safety procedures. Track materials, quantities, and completed work. Prepare and submit RFIs and assist with resolving field and project issues. Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, superintendents, and project team members. Assist with subcontract and material deliverables. Perform measurements of work completed in the field. Maintain accurate field notes and project records. Assist with control layout and electronic as-built surveys when required. Provide weekly quantities for completed work. Support overall project documentation and administrative requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred but not required.0–3 years of experience in construction, preferably heavy civil, water, or wastewater.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with superintendents, project managers, subcontractors, and other team members.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Primavera, MS Project, scheduling software, or quantity take-off/estimating is a plus.
