Senior Mechanical Project Manager (Confidential Search)Raleigh, NC | Full Time | On SiteRDM Recruiting is partnering with a nationally recognized, employee-owned mechanical contractor to find a Senior Project Manager for their Raleigh team. This firm self-performs HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and industrial mechanical work on projects where the mechanical scope alone can reach into the hundreds of millions. Their work spans data centers, healthcare, laboratories, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, and education. This is a leadership seat. You'll run complex mechanical projects from start to finish and help coach and develop the PMs around you.
What You'll Do: Lead large, complex mechanical projects (HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems) from preconstruction through closeout, on time and on budget Own project financials, including budgets, forecasting, and change management Build and manage detailed schedules across all contracted scopes Work with design and engineering teams on permit drawings, progress drawings, record drawings, and the overall build plan Make sure installation follows approved submittals and RFIsDefine subcontractor scopes, issue contracts, manage changes, and coordinate their schedules Drive site safety, including site-specific safety plans, audits, pick plans, and pre-task planning Mentor and develop other Project Managers on the team Build strong relationships with owners, general contractors, vendors, and subs Stay in close communication with field leadership, fab shops, warehouse, safety, and service teams What They're Looking For 10 to 15 years of mechanical construction experience, with at least 5 years as a Project Manager Life sciences, pharmaceutical, or laboratory project experience is a strong plus Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent industry experience Strong working knowledge of HVAC and piping systems, construction details, codes, and quality standards Comfortable in Procore and Bluebeam. P6 and Viewpoint experience preferred, Autodesk a plusA self-starter with real leadership presence who enjoys developing people
