Role Description: The Vice President Finance is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Charlotte, NC, responsible for overseeing all financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities for Border Concepts/Earthway. This position leads the finance team in developing annual budgets, long-range financial plans, and forecasts, while providing data-driven insights to support strategic decisions. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing financial statements and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance, overseeing cash flow and working capital, and monitoring key performance indicators. The Vice President Finance partners closely with executive leadership and functional heads to evaluate investments, optimize cost structures, support pricing strategies, and improve profitability. The role also includes enhancing internal controls, refining financial systems and processes, and guiding the organization through continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities: Oversee and lead all aspects of BCI’s financial management, including but not limited to:●      Provide insights drawn from financial and business acumen as part of the overall executive team●      Lead the efforts of six accounting employees to oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements●      Manage banking relationships and reporting, lead annual strategic and financial planning●      Accurately forecast financial performance, including cash flows, based on a sound understanding of BCI’s business and incorporation of key operational assumptions from other members of the BCI Executive Team●      Development and Creation a monthly score carding tool to help detail Company Performance●      Assist the Executive Team in the development and execution of operating policies and procedures as needed●      Support all company initiatives, establishing and communicating financial processes and procedures●      Monitor capital requests and expenditures to ensure they are within budget and plan, performing capital investment analysis where investments are intended to enhance profitability●      IT/E-commerce infrastructure ownership including EDI Transaction management for all key customers●      Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities●      Participation and eventual leadership of Employee Benefits and Human Resources●      Other duties as assigned
Requirements: ●      Intuitive understanding of finance based on both formal education and work experience●      Exceptional analytical skills with an ability to draw insights from numbers based on strong business acumen, and to challenge projected financial results that are inconsistent with key strategic and operating assumptions●      Able to inform and drive strategy in collaboration with other executive leaders●      Integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic environment●      Prior Experience with Mergers and Acquisitions●      A collaborative and flexible work style, with a strong service mentality●      Highly effective team leader, seeking to enhance team performance by enhancing all team members’ skills and seeking their active involvement in developing financial and business solutions●      Strong interpersonal skills, able to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders●      Strong working knowledge of financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, cost accounting, risk management, tax, and treasury●      Experience and comfort managing banking relationships and external vendors●      Appreciates and ensures internal controls that support compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, and that improve long-term performance●      An effective communicator at all organizational levels, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information while carefully identifying and safeguarding confidential information●      Solid understanding of statistical concepts●      Experience using ERP systems, Net Suite a plus●      Advanced Excel and Power Point skills●      In office with occasional overtime as needed
