About the role
Overview The Corporate Accounting team is seeking a forward-thinking, analytical and motivated Accounting Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play an integral role in overseeing corporate financial operations, including accounting activities, financial planning & analysis, month end close, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. The ideal candidate will drive key strategic initiatives related to efficiency, scalability and innovation. This role has a business focus and requires you to work cross-functionally with various departments within the organization. The primary objective is to plan, organize, monitor, and drive implementation deliverables and process improvement initiatives related to month-end close and forecasting of results.
What you’ll do Oversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, such as accounts payable, intercompany activity, general ledger maintenance and forecasts
Maintain a detailed month-end close checklist, including key deadlines and deliverables
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation prepared by the accounting team
Identify and address discrepancies or issues that arise during the close process, resolving them in a timely manner
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and financial modeling
Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis as needed
Ensure accounting processes are accurate, efficient, and consistent
Contribute to the development and improvement of financial systems, accounting policies, procedures, processes, and controls
Be a change agent and ensure objectives are aligned with the group’s overall strategy, and effectively communicate to staff
Able to prepare presentations to introduce management changes to business owners
Lead and support the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management
Effectively adjusting priorities and schedules to meet the needs of the business
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or equivalent – CPA preferred
Minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate accounting, with a focus on month‑end close activities
3+ years of management experience in a corporate setting
Sound business and financial acumen
Highly self‑motivated and directed; takes initiative
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to facilitate meetings
Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities and keen attention to detail
A talent for creative thinking and problem solving
Ability to work both independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment
Willingness to learn and grow
Skills to lead projects and influence change
Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
