This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural are seeking an experienced Python Developer to design, develop, enhance, and support business-critical applications and services built on the Quartz and legacy python platform. The role involves developing Python-based applications, automation frameworks, APIs, data-processing solutions, and scheduled workflows that support trading, risk, operations, reporting, and analytics functions. The successful candidate will partner closely with business users, architects, operations teams, and fellow developers to deliver scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions while contributing to platform modernization initiatives and cloud-native adoption efforts. Responsibilities:Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas Automates manual release activities Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)Design, develop, test, and support Python applications running on the Quartz Qualifications:3+ years of professional software development experience. Strong proficiency in Python development. Experience developing enterprise applications on Quartz or similar distributed computing platforms (Athena or SecDB)Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles. Experience working with relational databases and SQL.Experience developing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures. Familiarity with Linux environments and command-line tools. Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Desired Qualifications:Experience in financial services, commodities markets, trading, risk. Knowledge of Quartz services, job scheduling, orchestration, and distributed computing concepts. Familiarity with messaging systems, event-driven architectures, and workflow with data processing frameworks and large-scale supporting production applications with strict availability requirements.
